Born in Tamworth, raised in Wagga Wagga are immediate credentials in country music in Australia, but Rob chose to earn his the hard way. Throwing in his day job back in 1982 to pursue a full time music career, he moved to Sydney, starting a ball rolling which, still to this day, keeps the rent paid and the wolf from his door. Thousands of gigs later, and after performing in several excellent bands, including Golden Guitar nominees “Shot To Pieces”, Rob has struck out solo, writing, recording and performing his own songs and carving out a living with country music.
Since the release of Rough Around The Edges in 2003, Rob has received plenty of attention throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe & USA; with the singles off the album all becoming Top 20 hits, earning Rob plenty of Award wins & finalist berths throughout the industry & proving highly popular with Country Music fans worldwide.
The winner of the prestigious Coopers Golden Saddle Award, Rob is regarded by fans & fellow artists as one of the best Male Country Singer/Songwriters in Australia. Well known for giving 100% to every performance he makes, he is very popular with Country Music followers wherever he performs & is always a crowd favourite at venues, festivals & rodeos nationwide.With influences such as Alan Jackson, George Strait, Merle Haggard & George Jones, his versatile shows include a wide range of Classic & Modern Country favourites able to please all tastes & ages as well as his originals.
Based in the Hunter Valley, NSW,Rob & his band are highly recognisable on the road c/o his tour bus, a 40-foot Denning coach that he has converted into a fully self-contained motorhome. The bus not only acts as transport/accommodation for Rob & his team of highly professional musicians but also helps promote his shows via the impressive sign writing on it’s exterior.
Rob’s Longhorn Studio is fast gaining a reputation for producing some of the best Country recordings around, having recorded albums for many artists such as Angela Hayden, Tara Naysmith, Adam Kilpatrick, Trevor Day, LeAnne King, Kathy Coleman, Dean Johnson, Scott McCallister & Alby Pool; as well as his own albums. His vocal harmony skills are also in demand throughout the Industry & feature on many recordings for artists such as Bill Chambers, Sandra Humphries, Donella Waters to name a few. Also his harmonica playing is developing some interest with appearances on artists’ albums such as Felicity, Jason Lee, Matt Frost & Dean Johnson.
